I applied to this company in February and was invited to interview in March. The process involved two rounds: one with HR and another with the technical team. The second interviews was very long and in both they insist on recording you to share the interview with other members of the team, and the technical staff asked an extensive number of questions. Despite this, they assigned me an additional task after the interview.
Eventually, they offered me the position but with a salary significantly lower than what I had clearly stated as my expectation from the very beginning of the process. I had already provided three reference letters, yet when I insisted on the agreed salary, they requested two more references and started linking my salary to the content of the letters from my previous employers.
This was, by far, the least professional and most frustrating interview experience I’ve ever had. That said, I’m ultimately grateful; I believe I caught a glimpse of the company’s toxic culture in time and ended up joining another, far healthier organization.
