I applied through an employee referral. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at HubSpot in Mar 2015
Interview
It's not easy to make interviewing an enjoyable experience, but HubSpot did. I was totally impressed with the recruiter I worked with from start to finish. His warmth and enthusiasm for the place was infectious. Working with him made me feel at ease throughout the whole process--knowing exactly what to expect, answering my endless questions and truly listening to me during the process. This place really understands hiring is a two-way street and takes finding the right fit for both the company and the candidate very seriously. It was refreshing. A lot of standard interview questions came up and then a few curveballs, but nothing crazy. The only constructive criticism I have is that there was a lot of overlap in the questions that the managers asked me; it would have been nice if this had been coordinated a little better, as it got tedious as an interviewee to continue to sound engaged and fresh when answering the same question over and over, plus the team would have had more time to get more unique info out of me. One of the most attractive things about this place to me is how truly transparent it feels. Everyone I spoke with felt so genuine. I never felt like I was being tricked or sold, but simply that they wanted to ensure this would be an all-around great fit. I actually learned a lot about myself during this process and ultimately the team guided me to conclude that the opportunity wasn't quite right for me to take. But man, I felt lucky to have had the opportunity to get in the door here! From my brief glimpse in, it's a special place for sure. Oh, also, you get to have part of your interview in the very cool "jazz cafe" :)
