My interviewer looked really miserable, and I guessed that I would be miserable like them if I worked there too. I tried to keep up the enthusiasm only in response to her sighs. They interviewed me on the Friday before Thanksgiving weekend, and said they'd send me an assignment that I have to submit by Tuesday. I spend a majority of the Thanksgiving weekend working on the assignment. I woke up early two out of three mornings, declined drinks at another important networking event, and rescheduled other deadlines. When they sent me the rejection, I politely asked if they could provide brief feedback, as I kept reading over my assignment and saw perhaps one error. Of course, they do not have to hire me but some feedback would have been courteous, especially considering I spent the entire Thanksgiving weekend on it.
