I went through a month and a half long application process that consisted of seven stages: Initial phone interview. Technical interview conducted over Zoom. Three-day home task assignment. In-person technical interview with the director. Zoom interview with the Vice President. On-site HR personal interview. Requested to speak with references. Four days after speaking with my references, I received the news that they decided to proceed with another candidate who had more experience. Throughout the process, I had daily conversations with the HR representative who repeatedly told me to wait and wait. I believe it is unprofessional to keep someone hanging for that long without providing any updates or being transparent about the situation. In the end, I'm relieved that I didn't get the job due to the unpleasant interview process.
