The first contact with the global sourcing person was extremely positive. Too positive. She was ready to jump out of the phone at me and was offering no less that three different positions, and it was imperative to choose one at the beginning of the process. I was assured that no prior experience in the insurance field necessary, so I chose "Functional Consultant" because there was more client contact involved. Did a phone interview with a senior project manager which went well, I assumed although he did spend some time on the fact that I had no particular insurance experience.
The skills test was next; you are given 90 minutes to complete it and it took me 45. There was only one "functional" question, which iI did not answer because it required very specific insurance knowledge, but nothing that would take you more than 1h to learn, once you've seen it. Two weeks later, i got the automated response saying that I was no longer considered for the position. Moral of the story: don't believe them when they say insurance experience is not necessary. Watch out: they are only considering you for the position you have applied for and are not looking at what you can bring to the company, etc.
