The process itself was standard for a CS role. However, the prompt for the presentation towards the end was ridiculous. This role was for a strategic CSM role, but they wanted you to present Gong and answer their role play questions regarding Gong. I did my research as much as I could but it is quite impossible and stupid to ask your candidates to role play a strategic position when they do not know your product well enough. Unless you are expecting candidates to study and research for HOURS before an interview, there is no way anyone can be strategic when they haven't worked with the product. Of course they declined me and said they wanted someone who could be more strategic. I have no respect for companies that expect you to be experts at their product and expect you to put hours of your time into their presentations for free. The other inappropriate thing was that the recruiter told me the hiring manager said my back posture was not as straight as he wanted? I mean, does he want to Venmo me money to get an ergonomic chair? My chair wasn't great, my posture is not great, but how does he know I don't have scoliosis? or back issues? Completely inappropriate and I should have said something back.
