After applying for the role, I was informed the job had changed and the new job description listed essential criteria that were completely different to the job I had applied for. So, I didn’t get shortlisted.
I did interview for another role as a Conservation Programme Coordinator in Costa Rica. I got offered the job within 2 weeks of the non-negotiable start date, but they told me I had to sort out my work visa, work insurance, flights and travel insurance, adding £2000 on top of what I was expected to pay in flights. I rejected the offer, so they told me if I accepted I wouldn’t have to pay anything after all, except for my flights to the country. With only a week left until I was due to start, the cost was still extortionate so I didn’t accept.
