      Email Marketing Specialist Interview

      23 Mar 2022
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Austin, TX
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at GRIN (Austin, TX) in Mar 2022

      Interview

I had 3 interviews, but the 4th interview was canceled by HR just 40 minutes prior to the scheduled interview with the message: "Good afternoon ____, I just wanted to reach out & let you know that we are actually pausing on hiring for this role. However I would love to keep in touch regarding other roles you may also be a great fit for. Please let me know if you have any questions. Thanks!" First of all, when canceling an interview so last minute, I'd suggest providing a more believable reason, or perhaps providing real information as to why I'm no longer a good fit for this role so that I can at least reflect and grow. This interview was scheduled a week in advance so I am confused as to why they waited until the last minute to cancel. Definitely shows a lot about the company in my opinion. The other interviews went ok... the 3rd interview they rescheduled and the interviewer and still conducted my interview in their car which I found to be unprofessional and difficult to hear during the call. Overall, it felt as if this company was not respectful of my time and it seemed a bit disorganized.

I appreciate you sharing your experience with us and I apologize that it didn't live up to our standards. As you can imagine, from time to time business needs change and roles are removed. Instead of wasting your time and getting your hopes up by going through with the final interview, we made the decision to cancel it. Definitely a learning experience for the recruiting team that these types of cancelations should be made over the phone to explain the situation versus a generic email. Regarding the third interview where the interviewer took the interview from their car; I looked into this and an emergency had come up where the interviewer was unable to be in front of their computer for the interview. So instead of a last minute reschedule, they decided to proceed.
