      Senior Software Engineer Interview

      15 Aug 2023
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Kitchener, ON
      No offer
      Positive experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied through an employee referral. The process took 5 days. I interviewed at Fullscript (Kitchener, ON) in Aug 2023

      Interview

An initial technical recruiter interview, after which you get a simple technical challenge. If that is passed, you move to a 2-hour technical interview that has 2 sections (a system design and a real life scenario coding problem). If you scale through you then go through a final behavioural interview with an engineering manager.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

To design a system and to solve a string manipulation coding challenge.

      Senior Software Engineer Interview

      20 Jul 2022
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Toronto, ON
      No offer
      Neutral experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Fullscript (Toronto, ON) in Jun 2022

      Interview

The final outcome was I didn't get an offer after having 4 rounds of interviews averaging about 30-45 minutes per interview. Their feedback was mostly positive with the deal breaker reason being generic at best. Felt like they simply kept me in the loop as an option before they got their perfect fit. Most of the interviewers were very decent people and even better professionals so I was hoping to expect a bit better and a more concrete review instead of being someone who needs to have a bit more "eye for detail" when writing code. The code related feedback would be something that would have appeared in the first interview so if they felt like that the rest of the three interviews really made no sense. Hence my deduction of keeping me as a fallback option. Appalling really. I was asked to consider applying again later but if the prospect is anything like the ones I went through where I have to go through 4 rounds and uncompensated hours just to make myself worth considering to them I'll probably not consider it. - First there's the Recruiter Phone Call - After the call you get an email for a take home coding challenge which you have to complete and submit for them to get back to you - After successful completion you are invited for a code review and discussion interview - Then you have a Technical interview with two senior engineers - Hiring Manager Interview

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

      - Self intorduction - What did I do in my code and why - How would I make it better - Challenging projects - Basic Data structures usages in projects - Biggest win so far
