I interviewed over the phone directly with the hiring manager for this small association — the position would have been working closely with her. The interview took place in February and went well; I left feeling confident and was told she would follow up.
I was certainly qualified, but it became clear this role was largely about personal fit with the Director. After the interview, I sent both a thank-you note and a follow-up within two weeks and received absolutely no response. It's disappointing that a simple reply — even just a brief "we've moved in a different direction" — couldn't be extended to someone who took the time to interview. Common courtesy goes a long way.
