      Fullstack Developer Interview

      28 Aug 2018
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Munich, Bavaria
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Fleetster (Munich, Bavaria) in Aug 2018

      Interview

I had a talk with HR, then I was sent a coding challenge involving an online game where you have to write scripts to reach a certain level. The game was fun, and there was no tight deadline on it. Overall, this was enjoyable although it can take a bit of your time. Then I had a talk with the CTO, and he told me the next step in the interview process is working with them for 2 weeks but they would only pay for flights and accomodation. In other words, you have to work for free for 2 weeks. I think that may not even be legal, and there's so many problems with it that I don't know where to begin. I told them I wasn't interested.

Dear candidate, Our interview process is quite unusual and we understand your concern. The thorough interview process is an important part of ensuring our technical team recruits individuals with a solid technical and personality fit. The 2-week challenge is a process that every member of the technical team has gone through (from the CTO to Devs to QA). Especially for developers, this is a unique opportunity to get a personal and in-depth introduction into a number of cutting edge technologies (React, React-Native, Node etc). In 90% of the cases, the "work" done by a candidate during the 2 weeks will be thrown away. Considering the amount of time, effort and costs for us (flight + accommodation is somewhere between 500 to 2000 euros depending on the candidate location), this is a fair arrangement.

      Anonymous employee
      Munich, Bavaria
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied through an employee referral. The process took 4 months. I interviewed at Fleetster (Munich, Bavaria) in Oct 2021

      Interview

The interview was divided into some stages, starting first with a normal technical interview, followed by a code challenge in a programming game, which I think was very interesting and useful to see how the interviewee thinks logically. After being approved, I worked for 14 days as a trial in the company, having a chance to meet the team and make the choice if it's really what I wanted and also for the company to do the same choice about me

      5 Feb 2019
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Remote, OR
      No offer
      Positive experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 4 months. I interviewed at Fleetster (Remote, OR) in Oct 2018

      Interview

The interview consisted of a 4-step process, as descripted below: 1. A normal interview to talk about you and your goals, why do you want to work with the company and what motivates you. 2. A technical test that was fun and intuitive to do. I found it to be really "out of the box". 3. A technical interview regarding your skills and what do you hope to accomplish at the company. 4. A 2-week trial at the company to see your engagement with the team and how you would behave with the tasks and time that is given to you. The trial was really interesting and challenging. I learned a lot from it, even though it didn't end up with a positive result but it was worth it.
