Interview
I applied to the role via LinkedIn. Initially got contacted by the company recruiter for a 30 minute chat about my background and interest in the role.
Followed by a technical interview with engineering manager a week later. This focused on 30 minutes of high level technical questions and 30 minute screen share and coding session. Manager was happy with my interview performance.
Then they asked me to complete a take home coding assessment (which in hindsight was too big for the level of role I was applying for). Involved setting up a Vue and PHP based application from scratch with user authentication and couple of features related to currency conversion (including scheduling and report charts).
During this time, the recruiter in Melbourne finished up and re-directed me to the US based one. Since this point, I have been kept hanging and begging for any feedback regarding the code that I spent a lot of time completing. Eventually, I was told they have decided to change plans and not hiring for the role anymore. This is after 3 months of keeping me hanging.
Note: Please, please think carefully before applying, because chances are you might end up wasting a lot of your precious time and sanity.

Question 1
- High level technical questions related to my resume and technologies I used.
- Coding exercise - Generic PHP problem. Wanted to see how I approach solving and debugging issues with code.
- Take home coding test - Create an application with PHP and VueJS that needs to have authentication features set up and couple of currency features (live currency rates for upto 5 currencies against USD). Scheduling historical reports to compare one currency with USD over a range and interval.
