I applied through other source. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Evidation Health (Santa Barbara, CA) in Apr 2018
Interview
I was approached by the internal recruiter ( I didn't apply) on a Monday. I was asked to do a data assignment, but I requested to have a talk with someone technical to learn more about the role before committing and investing time. I was able to speak with someone on Thursday who seemed nice and excited about the company. I received an email and then a call from an executive to talk about my background and the company. I used the weekend to do the data analysis assignment. Then I had the onsite the following Tuesday to talk to various people in the team. To my surprise, there was nothing set or prepared. For example, there was no job description.
My conversations went very smooth. It seemed like there was a potential match. I was asked what compensation I had in mind. However, without a job description I was not able to give an answer. I said I would be able to answer that question once I had a job description. I was told I would get the description either that night or the next morning and that I would hear back from them in a few days. Ultimately, I never heard from them again. I did the standard after the interview - follow up emails to the talent acquisition person and my interviewer. Then a week and a half later (after complete silence) I tried again but I didn't get the courtesy of a reply. Sometimes, a simple "no thank you is good enough". Evidation people didn't think that way necessary (?) -- No hard feelings, just some constructive criticism to a company with lots of potential.
Advice: be courteous and professional with your applicants. Even if you think they are not a good fit, the right thing to do is to not have them waiting. Applicants take the time to do the screening interviews, do the assignments, and show up to your office. The least you can do is close the loop. Be professional and let them know your decision ASAP.
It seems I'm not the only one with this extremely negative experience.
