I applied through an employee referral. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Eventbase (Vancouver, BC) in Jan 2016
Interview
1. You will be contacted for a phone interview
2. After the phone interview, you'll be asked to come to the office for a panel interview (HR first, then the technical team)
3. SQL test (take-home)
4. PHP test (take-home)
I applied through other source. I interviewed at Eventbase (Vancouver, BC) in Apr 2016
Interview
PHP test - consisted of making calls to a URL and displaying/sorting data
SQL test - 10 questions for fairly simple queries. 1 or 2 difficult ones in there.
Not too difficult if you're competent.
I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Eventbase (Vancouver, BC) in Mar 2015
Interview
I applied on the company website. I got an email asking my availability for a phone interview over a month later. The phone interview was with some HR person, pretty formal. They ask about your academic and jobs background, how it relates to the position. In this case they asked me what projects I had coded in SQL/php and if just for school or also work. They ask you what you know about Eventbase, the more info you can get about the company the better. They ask you what mobile apps you use as well. They ask your salary expectation.
I was asked to do a code test after this first phone interview.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
1) phone interview: your background, what you know about eventbase, what apps do you use.
2) Code test: It was an online SQL knowledge test using SQL lite manager for Firefox. Must be completed in 1 hour sharp, followed by 10 mins of you writing feedback about the test in an email. It's not basic SQL, you must review the stuff before the test to pass it. It had been a while for me and I was too rusty for the kind of queries they asked (hard joins etc.). The database they give you uses very generic names for tables and attributes, and an ER diagram describing it. Must wrap your head around the structure of it. I was advised a few days later that after the test they wished to not continue with my application.
