- Apply on website - Fill in a google form about experience Initial chat with Head of Product - this is where I realised this isn't a product manager role but a project manager/scrum master role and bowed out. The Head of product was a nice person, but they were more interested in whether the candidate can run scrum ceremonies, manage resources and set deadlines. I'm not confident that they fully understand the role of a PM. They called it a full stack product manager, which is a non-existent thing in product. They did say it's what they were use to, which is a red flag and something that needs to be squeezed out of the product management industry. At the end of the day, I don't blame them for their requirements if that's what they are use to. Product management is not a project manager/scrum master. Product people should be focussed on stating the product vision and product strategy of the product, making sure the team are building. If you're looking to be a product manager or continue your product career, this may not be the right role personally.
