1. HR Interview (30 mins) – Introductory chat covering background, interest in the role, and Estuary’s mission. Light and conversational.
2. Technical Interview with Solutions Engineer (1 hour) – Focused on data pipelines, real-time streaming, and how I’ve worked with tools like Kafka, Spring Boot, and AWS. Also discussed client communication and problem-solving scenarios.
3. Take-Home Assignment – A practical task related to building or explaining a data pipeline. It tested both technical depth and communication clarity.
4. Final Interview with CEO (45 mins) – Discussion on Estuary’s vision, the role’s impact, and cultural fit. The CEO was approachable and keen to understand my motivations and long-term goals.
I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Estuary Solutions (New York, NY) in Nov 2024
Interview
I did not like interviewing here. The process was disorganized because the interviewer was late to interview and kind of arrogant. They didn't bother to get back to me about next steps. It doesn't seem like the recruiting team cares about the candidate experience and I really wouldn't recommend interviewing or even applying here. There are many other companies that show professionalism by upholding respectful and courteous recruiting processes, and at the very least get back to people they talked to.
