Phone screen with HR, 30 min phone call with hiring manager, 4 in-person interviews with the product team (PM, Product Designer, Data, SR UX Researcher).
Process went really smoothly until the end - I was told that the HR recruiter would get back to me within 2 days of my in person interview. Recruiter took over a week after the in-person interview to reach back out and asked to chat on the phone. Told me they were going in a different direction, but couldn't share feedback. If that's the case, why not just send an email? Is there something I can work on? Does this role need more experience with _____ ? Is this role just not a fit for me, based on my resume? Should I not apply to similar roles? I understand that the phone call is meant to be more "human" but what is the point if you can't share any feedback? I'm not asking for company secrets here, I just want to know how to improve and find roles that are a better fit.
