I originally applied for a Process Expert position with Anthem BCBS on June 09, 2017. On June 15, 2017 I received an email from their talent acquisition team requesting that I click a link within the email to schedule a time for an initial phone screening. I promptly scheduled my interview for one of the first available time slots at 10:00am on June 20, 2017.
The days leading up to my interview I prepared extensively and was eagerly awaiting my time to shine. At 10:06am on June 20th I received a call from my interviewer, Gauri Sarkar. She immediately apologized for her tardiness, which at the time I didn't think was a big deal. However, the rest of our conversation seemed to be rushed, as if she needed to make up time in order to get back on schedule, which threw me off a little bit. Ms. Sarkar also had an accent that at times made it difficult to understand the questions being asked, causing me to ask her to repeat herself. Nonetheless, she was very pleasant and professional overall, so I just had to adapt and overcome! I felt I did fairly well answering the questions. The questions were a mixture of skill based questions and your basic STAR Method/behavior-based questions.
At the conclusion of the interview I asked about the position's start date and when I could expect hear back from them. I was told I should hear something within the next two weeks and that she was unsure of the exact start date for the position. She said it would likely be sometime in September or October. Today is August 07, 2017, and I have yet to receive any feedback from the company. I did however call to follow up and see if they were still seeking to fill the position. I asked if there were any questions I could answer, or if I could provide them any additional information in order to strengthen my candidacy. I was told that I am still in the running and to just continue monitoring my email. My application status online is listed as "Hiring Manager Review," so I am keeping my fingers crossed and staying hopeful.
