Interview
After submitting an application for the role I was invited to take part in the next stage of the assessment process, which involved a lengthy, multi-stage online challenge combining logic traps, repetitive comparison tasks, and a full data analysis exercise. Tasks included identifying minute textual differences across nearly identical statements, often designed to catch candidates out on technicalities rather than real-world ability. Several questions relied on deliberately ambiguous or misleading wording, prioritising trickery over practical problem-solving. A spreadsheet task requiring data cleaning, metric calculation, and commercial insight generation, effectively asking candidates to perform unpaid analytical work.
The overall process was time-intensive and disproportionate to the role.
While I’m happy to complete assessments as part of a process, I was disappointed not to receive any follow-up or feedback after submission. Even a brief acknowledgment or outcome would have been appreciated given the level of effort required.
The experience left me feeling that candidate time and effort weren’t fully respected. I’d encourage the company to improve communication and close the loop with candidates who invest time in their process.

This served as the first stage of the selection process. Approximately two weeks later, I was invited to participate in an interview, where I had the opportunity to further discuss my qualifications, professional experiences, and motivations for applying to the role.
