Could the stages be shortened? Absolutely! You can easily get to the google hangouts round if you go via glassdoor questions. The process is EXACTLY the same. Google Hangouts: The interviewers(2 engineers) were quite friendly and did mention that the process would both of us communicating and figuring out a problem together. I do feel at times he was a bit impatient and did not let me complete what I was trying to say . Also, I was going about explaining how recursion memories have an auxiliary space associated with them and thereby have a overhead as compared to other algos. The interviewer said that there is no such thing in recursion! I was very surprised by his answer. I feel they were asked to stick to a few protocols about coding and did not want to go beyond that & his impatience to listen made it a bit difficult to explain your thoughts. Before my google hangouts interview, I asked the HR if they preferred a coding language, I got a reply back saying None. However during the interview, the guy mentioned that they did not prefer Python(or any scripting). Which just leaves Java and C/C++. I felt, there was a huge communication gap between the HR and the interviewers. To sum it all up, the company does good work. Their round are designed in a good way( they can definitely merge initial rounds together). I'm assuming not all interviewers would not as impatient as mine, but they do help if you get stuck during the interview.
