Interview
First I'd like to say that I don't know whether it's a good company or not. Since I saw on other platforms that current employees attack people had a bad experience with the interview, I'd like to make clear that neither I'm bitter or want to make the company look bad, I simply want to help others.
To me the interview was very unprofessional. It almost felt like they didn't want to hire me anyway, but had to have the interview with me for some reason. I suddenly got a message if we could have the interview in 10 minutes, I just got out of the shower and actually told them no, but they kept asking until I gave in - I was completely unprepared. First they called me by a different name (which really shocked me), then they asked me for a trial lesson, I had 5 minutes to prepare a completely useless listening practice (without listening) I should teach within 5 minutes. The interviewer looked terribly stressed and sweaty and never actually looked at me or even smiled for a second. Everything just felt weird and not right about this interview. I was so disappointed afterwards, because I was actually thrilled that in times of Covid-19 somebody offered me a jobinterview, but I knew right after that they wouldn't hire me and maybe never intended to from the beginning. My only question is, why are they having those interviews to begin with?
I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at E-Communication (Tokyo) in Sept 2015
Interview
There were a total of 3 interviews. One with HR, and two with a manager where I did a short 5 minute demonstration lesson. The demonstration lessons were not difficult if you have experience teaching, but you only get a few minutes to prepare them.
