I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Dropbox (San Francisco, CA) in Nov 2017
Interview
- Got in touch with the recruiter and talked about my background (~30mins)
- Went for an 1.30h inhouse (2 questions, 45 mins each)
- Went for a final round (5hours, multiple sessions, w/ lunch)
Generally the questions were practical but at the same time challenging. Know your algorithms and data structures but don't expect someone to ask you to implement a specific algorithm. But instead you will need them to solve a very practical, but still challenging problem.
Overall the Dropbox interviews were the most challenging (but fun) I had experienced. Also the interviewers and the and managers were some of the smartest people I've met during all of my interviews (I also interviewed at Apple, Google, Square, Uber, Twitter, Facebook and some other companies).
I was really impressed with the culture and the skillset of the people! I preferred Dropbox instead of the aforementioned companies because I really felt that I could grow as an engineer with this people around me! Awesome culture, super smart people, not too small, not to huge and chaotic, you have space to develop and have impact. Oh and yes... they have awesome lunch. They do value their employees and offer a lot of benefits. Also I am super satisfied with my offer! (it exceeded my expectations)
