As soon as I joined the Zoom call I was caught off guard when it said, "Recording in progress." That was one of the things that threw me off for the rest of the call.
The interview was scripted, the interviewer seemed uninterested from the get-go, and it seemed very one-sided including showing no interest in sharing more about the role.
The job title is very inflated for what it is and the original job description doesn't do a good job saying what the work would entail. The group is structured in "pods" which includes other team members working on 3-5 clients. The YouTube Creative Director should ideate 4 longform videos and 30-60 Shorts per month. In this role you'd work on ideation, conception, with scriptwriters, review and revise, it then goes over to the client for recording, then post-production, work with thumbnail designer and A/B test, and finally do reporting. There is a YouTube Strategist who looks into analytics.
The clients they work with are more business, finance, and entrepreneurial.
This role seems to be more on the "creative" side and the job title is quite literal. Honestly, this role seems more “entry level” and could be a good start for getting into this type of work. The Glassdoor reviews for them made me very wary of them, too.
I asked about how the job description says they work long hours and I was told because "we’re a startup."
Their culture seems to be very "bro."
