Submitted my resume on a Monday, heard back two days later (Wed.) and interviewed on a Friday. Asked to take a personality and skills test online, then asked to come in on Friday. Somewhat disorganized process. First told to come in at 10AM, then asked if I could come in later b/c the hiring manager wasn't available til 2PM, then told, never mind, come in at 10AM after all. Not a good sign.
Arrived on time. In a Culver City, CA office park with plenty of free parking. Looks like they are still setting up shop, since there is no reception area to speak of. The HR woman greeted me promptly and then had me sit down and take yet more skills, IQ and personality tests. In all fairness, she had mentioned this would be the case, I just had no idea it would be so much.
Sat me in what appeared to be the makeshift help desk area, since there were two people continuously taking customer calls right next to me. Somewhat unprofessional, but hey, I've come this far, might as well stick it out. Took me about half an hour to complete their various tests. Honestly, some of it was laughable (Would you ever steal from work?) Great way to break the ice, folks. Lots of puzzle and logic questions. If someone knows what that has to do with a sales position, let me know.
Another employee; very friendly, btw, came over and asked me to wait in an empty office. Sat there for about 20 minutes. Was about to leave when the HR woman came back, apologized for the delay and held a very rudimentary Q&A with me. Never saw the aforementioned Hiring Manager that they were so keen on me meeting. Asked me if I had any questions for her and we wrapped it up. Total time, about an hour.
Got an email a few hours later, same day, that the position had been filled, but they would keep me in mind for the future. I did thank them for letting me know. Also noticed the job was no longer posted online.
