      Application

I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Democracy Works

      Interview

I applied online and was scheduled for a 30 minute chat. It was not with the research team but rather someone else as part of the hiring/screening process. It was a pleasant conversation about the job, the organization, some of the duties involved, etc. Afterwards I was assigned a practical assignment, which only took a few hours (as opposed to what feels like free work). Unfortunately I did not advance. I thought I might have had at least a shot in advancing to another round of interviews but alas. While the interview I did have was fine, I was still disappointed that I did not speak with the team that I would be assigned to. While I understand this was more of a screening process, this was still disappointing overall. I also hesitate after reading the reviews on here. The organization sounds super interesting and I was willing to at least go through the interview process to see if they have changed. But the negative reviews do concern me and I'd urge candidates to ask about them and/or DW to be more open about what happened.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

Standard questions about my background, experiences, how I'd handle a couple of situations, experiences using databases, my work history, etc.
