Interview
I have applied for the position through the careers website of Deloitte. Got a call from HR directly and interview was scheduled a week later. It was for 5 rounds. 2 technical, 1 versant english test, 1 managerial and 1 HR. I have appeared for two rounds and waiting for the third round. 1st Technical round was around basics of ASP.NET Page Life Cycle, Web Services, WCF, SQL Server and few scenarios where I was asked to write programs as well. 2nd round was a bit tough, Asked about Design patterns, Security features in Web Services, Scenario to create a Shopping Cat website spanning multiple pages. MVC related questions. The first round had a friendly communication. Second round had two members in the panel. I did just fair over there.

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Deloitte in Nov 2011
Interview
The first interview was one to one with the person who would be the imidieate manager for the role. All in all this was a relatively relaxed conversation. Initial segment consisted of interviewer describing the consultancy devision of the company and outlining the role. This was followed by a request to discuss my CV giving details of both education and work experience. The interviewer just listned to the description for 5-10 minutes followed by some queries on specifics of technical skills used in the past i.e. (ASP.NET, C#, etc.) and asked to rate my competancy. There was a brief technical test consisting of writing some C# code on paper. Something very simple, write a method to reverse a string or something simular. This was followed with some general questions about career direction e.g.“Are you more interested in going down the project management route or the archetecture route?”
The second interview was again a one to one, this time with a company partner. This was a much more difficult interview predominiatly due to the interviewing style. Quite confrontational, I assume a technique to see how the interviewee responds to a difficult situation. The interviewer asked general questions, mostly asking for experience based descriptions of development techniques and technologies to use in different situations. “When would you use LINQ? What are the pros and cons?” This was followed by a question of what salary I expected and surprisingly a negotiation over money.
First interviewer was very interested in business skills. An understanding of the business drivers of a project or task and ability to comunicate were clearly desired for this role. The second interviewer (who I believe was a software archetect) was far more interested in technical compencity.
