The first step was a talk with the current holder of the position together with one member of its team. I found it strange that there is no HR included, but OK, I guessed it will be the next step.
The second interview was with my to-be line manager, an omnichannel leader for the region. Then I realized there is no official HR department included in the process.
They are very focused on the team, and by my judgement on internal processes rather than on market situation and customers. Most of the managers arise internally, from sales advisors or store managers, they rarely hire top positions from outside. Therefore I believe they do not have a real feel of worth (salaries and other compensations) for specific knowledges on the market.
