Interview
Went through recruiter screen. Told I was going to have a 30 minute phone screen to go over resume and fit with the hiring manager. Lo and behold, it ended up being a video interview and was asked mostly behavioral questions with no resume walkover whatsoever. Half of the interview was a bizarre roleplay where you had to pretend you're helping a client design a swimming pool in the Scottish Highlands.

Interview
The worst interview experience I have ever had. Upon submitting my CV and cover letter, the hiring manager for this role emailed to arrange "a short video call to discuss the opportunity". Nowhere within this communication was the word "interview" mentioned, neither had their application process been described anywhere online or in the job description. So naturally, I assumed the call was exactly as described in the email (i.e. a short video call to discuss the opportunity). However, upon joining the call, it became apparent that this was in fact an interview. I questioned whether this was the case and she just looked at me as if I was stupid. Regardless, I got on with it and did my best to answer the questions with zero preparation. Meanwhile, she provided minimal feedback, giving no verbal or non-verbal cues to indicate active listening, and generally made me feel uncomfortable with a noticeable lack of warmth - failing to return my smiles, build rapport, or put me at ease.

Question 1
Tell me about a time you did something challenging.
Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. We're sorry to hear that your interaction with us did not meet your expectations, this doesn't reflect the high level of candidate care we strive for here at Dayshape.
The first call is a shorter one to get a bit more information beyond the CV/application and give candidates a chance to ask some initial questions, as such no specific preparation is required! We will take your feedback on board and identify where we can be clearer in our communication moving forward.
