      Account Manager Interview

      18 Feb 2021
      Anonymous interview candidate
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at Datadog in Feb 2021

      Interview

Not an AM role at all. They want a hunter/sdr guised as a AM which was off-putting at the start. There is entirely too much redundancy with this interview process. I was literally asked the same 3 questions by 5 individuals with zero communication between the interviewing managers which lead to just dead time and weird questions to fill each 30 minute block of time.

      Account Manager Interview

      7 Nov 2024
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Boston, MA
      Declined offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Datadog (Boston, MA) in Sept 2024

      Interview

I recently went through the interview process for an Account Manager position at Datadog, and unfortunately, my experience was disappointing due to a few issues. Lack of Clear Communication: Throughout the process, there were periods where communication felt inconsistent. After the initial screening, it took much longer than expected to hear back regarding the next steps, with little clarity on timing. When I followed up, I received generic responses rather than specific updates, which left me uncertain about my status. Unclear Expectations in Interviews: The behavioral and situational questions felt repetitive and lacked structure. It seemed like the interviewers had different expectations and weren't always aligned on the role’s core requirements. This made it challenging to determine what experiences to emphasize and how best to frame my answers. It would have helped if each interviewer had a clearer set of criteria. Limited Feedback: After multiple rounds, I was left without meaningful feedback, which made it hard to understand areas for improvement. I appreciate companies that value candidate development, even when they don't extend an offer, so this was disappointing. It felt like I had invested a lot of time without much take-away value.
