I applied through an employee referral. The process took 2 days. I interviewed at Datadog in Jan 2024
Interview
I’ve Interviewed twice now with datadog and they have been genuinely the worst experiences I have ever had which is sad to write considering how big a fan I am of the product and knowing people in there who speak highly about the culture.
First had experience was last year when I got head hunted by one of their recruiters. The screening was great and then I met someone to kick off the interview process. He was 10 minutes late and then proceeded to take a phone call during the interview and kept looking at his phone.
The second was more recently when I was referred in for a role and felt I had really great experience for as it suited the job description.
I had a chat with the recruiter and gave her some of my previous experiences and roles for her to tell me at the end of the interview I wasn’t strong enough for the role.
Datadog says in its job applications to apply even if you are not meeting all the skills or requirements. This experience has sadly not shown that which is sad.
Passed this feedback on so hopefully someone doesn’t get shot down in a 15 minute intro call.
