After a 2-page application that included why I wanted to work there and how I saw myself in that particular job, I had a face-2-face interview with someone from HR. It went really well and I was asked to complete a marketing assignment for one of their actual clients. I was given about a week's time to send it in and present it in their offices. It was an amazing assignment, as it gave me a great feel for what Cyber-Duck does and how much I would like doing that type of work. My presentation was well-liked and I received a job offer.
Unfortunately I had to decline, as the offer did not include sick pay - which to me is a basic right. At first, when they told me I'd gotten the job, I was overjoyed. But when I read the contract, that joy turned to shock. It was not how the company had represented itself at all. The terms and conditions were really unacceptable and I was genuinely heartbroken... Guess some stories are indeed too good to be true.
