I applied online. I interviewed at Cupcake Home Improvements (Austin, TX) in Feb 2026
Interview
The interview process was fine. However, the hiring manager, Caleb, mentioned during the interview process that he would like to get me in front of the owner for an additional interview, but then never followed up with me. I called multiple times over the course of a month, only to be told that they had selected someone else.
It is incredibly disrespectful and unprofessional to string people along like this, especially one that is qualified and would've been a great asset to the team.

Question 1
How do you deal with rejection as this is canvassing door to door
I applied online. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Cupcake Home Improvements (Austin, TX) in Aug 2025
Interview
Pretty easy phone screening. I appeared to be a great match according to the talent scout. The second interview was in person with the owning partner Robert. Robert, had pretty standard interview questions and was very thorough when answering my questions. Typically, after a series of questions and the interviewee's questions that's it. He appeared to be digging for more questions before asking me to pitch the TV on the wall. He gave good feedback but later admitted that he had sold TV's before. Instead of gauging my comfort, getting to know the customer, or my pitch, he critiqued my lack of knowledge about room dimensions and wall size. To me it appeared that he was looking for ways to exclude rather than seeing if I would be a good fit.
