Interview
I recently went through a five-week interview process with Copper, where one of the later stages included a large, unpaid home assignment to design a new feature for their product. I spent several days completing it and presented my work for over an hour. After that, I received no feedback and was ultimately ghosted.
Given the scope of the assignment — something that would normally be paid client work — candidates should question what it signals about the company’s expectations, especially for a Staff-level role.
After seeing similar patterns in their other job postings, it seems this is a common part of their pipeline and may be used to collect free ideas from multiple applicants.
In my opinion, it’s unprofessional and inappropriate to require this level of uncompensated work during an interview, especially without any follow-up or acknowledgment.
If you're considering applying here, be aware that the process may involve significant unpaid work with no guarantee of response. I hope this review helps others understand what to expect.

Question 1
• “What new feature would you design for our product, or how would you improve an existing one?”
• “How quickly could you deliver this project in real life?”

Screening, exercise, and two interviews followed. Everything was on track and efficient until the last interview, which took place within a week. I even enjoyed working on the home assignment and during the interviews.
However, after that, things took a turn for the worse. The recruiter was sometimes busy, the team was busy, and they had to interview other candidates and wait for their results. Finally, after several weeks of the course, they sent a rejection email.
Do not waste your time here.

Interview
My interview was only the screening with HR. She was very friendly, and really tried to get an understanding of my previous role. We spoke a lot about CRM, how organizations use it, and why.
