I applied through university. The process took 4 months. I interviewed at Commonfloor (Bengaluru) in Feb 2014
Interview
Commonfloor conducts recruitment drives in colleges for hiring freshers.
FYI, They charge Rs. 200 from each student for "Question Papers" provided for the 1st round :)
1st round(February): An MCQ round of aptitude/technical questions. (Difficulty: Average)
Out of thousands of students(again, who have paid 200 each!) from various colleges, a handful 30-50 are selected for the 2nd round.
2nd round(April): This is a website development round. Each of the shortlisted candidate needs to develop a website from scratch using any technology over time period of 30 days(approx).
The assessment of websites: It was a HR representative judging the technical round :) The person seems to be looking only for the look and feel of the website rather than any of the technical aspects used. There was not a single technical question asked, but got comments for the 'font' used in website :)
It took more than 2 weeks for them to declare the results. Luckily got through the 2nd round.
The 3rd round(May) was mentioned as an HR round, at the Commonfloor office. The interviewer asked to show the website created in the 2nd round, added more comments(nothing technical) and said they'll inform about the results.
Weeks passed, and no results or communication to the college placement officer. When the Commonfloor Placement coordinator was contacted directly, the response was very rude.
I got an offer elsewhere and stopped following up on this.
But when they are making money out of conducting placement drives (unlike even any of the big IT companies), the least they can do is inform the students- who are looking to start their careers- about the results of the interview in a timely manner. Hope the interview process is changed and student's money and time aren't wasted.
