After seeing the Senior SEO Specialist role re-posted on LinkedIn for nearly two years, I decided to apply. Even though the title was technically two levels below where I am in my career, the pay range was decent. I didn't exactly have high hopes for the outcome of my application as I found it suspicious that the role had been posted over and over again for such a long period of time. Could they not find a decent candidate out of all the thousands who applied???
A recruiter reached out a couple days after I applied to set up a phone call. The call lasted about 35 minutes and at the end the recruiter told me the next steps in the process, if the hiring manager decided to move forward with my application. Well, after about a week I had not heard back from the recruiter so I checked the online CoStar careers portal for the status of my application and sure enough it indicated I was "not selected".
I'm so tired of employers having the upper hand in the recruitment process and perspective employees being at their whim. Employers repost the same job over and over again for months or years, ghost candidates, and ultimately waste peoples' time. It's really frustrating and unfair. I am very good at what I do and have made companies lots of money so it's your loss, CoStar Group.
