Phone screen (I was cold called after applying several days prior), then interview with engineering manager of the team, then take home exam for a week. Engineering manager was friendly and nice, and the take home exam contained code
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
How did you deal with disagreements with coworkers ?
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at CloudZero (Boston, MA) in Mar 2025
Interview
Recruiter reached out to me via LinkedIn on a message that caught my eye and was for me not bulk messages like I normally get. Had a great call and it was clear what the purpose, vision, and impact for this role was. Was setup on a hiring Manager call two days after the screen and had a great call. I was told that there were two other really strong candidates that were at the same stage and that they wanted to move fast which again I appreciated. I met with the hiring team and had great conversations. Unfortunately they decided to not move forward with me which I was bummed about. The TA leader was very responsive and helpful with interview prep and what was going on in the process. He also gave me a phone call with the constructive feedback versus an email which I greatly appreciated. All in all I thought it was a strong interview process and professional experience and enjoyed meeting the everyone.

Question 1
- if company was behind on pipeline how would you make sure you could help facilitate growth?
I applied through an employee referral. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at CloudZero (Boston, MA) in Apr 2024
Interview
Unfortunately the interview process was not very respectful. The hiring manager missed my initial phone screen and only reached out to reschedule after the time for the call had passed. The main interviews were fine, on par with what I would expect in terms of areas of focus and difficulty but when it came time for the coding problem I wasn't given it while on a call or meeting with any of their employees. Instead they explicitly chose to send the problem over email creating an additional barrier for communicating constraints and asking questions. In fact they initially gave no time constraint at all and when it was revealed later I was told that I should spend a few days working on the problem. Overall I felt that they had really very little respect for my time and treated me clearly and simply poorly.

Question 1
There were many questions spread out for each round asking to go into detail about previous work projects and general working environments. The coding question was to build an API that solved a modified wordle problem.
