Had a f2f without any telephonic.
Interviewer wanted to assess my ability to solve a real world problem primarily using technology and little/no operations. He was looking for simplicity and practicality of the solution and was more keen on the approach.
Discussion revolved around, how will you measure the success of proposed solution, how will you break it into multiple releases/versions considering investment for complete solution is large, what metrics will you look at before proceeding to next release, is the solution practical to convince someone to invest in it, is there a quick alternate to proposed solution, is the solution solving the real need and will it win customer.
Key takeaways from the discussion.
1. Ensure goal of the problem in your mind and in the interviewer mind are same. Don't mind checking it multiple times with interviewer. There is no point in giving a elaborate solution and only then realise you both are not same page w.r.t goal.
2. Don't over complicate the solution. If you realise this during your discussion, feel free to take a step back erase the whiteboard and start from the scratch. This is much appreciable than sticking to a complicated solution
3. Don't get carried over by the words used in the question. In my case, it was stressed to use technology, so I have given too much weightage on solving the problem using out of the box tech and ignored some basic solutions that could have solved the problem
