I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at Clarity Innovations (MD) in Sept 2023
Interview
The HR person I interacted with before the interview was simply a pleasure to talk to and ready to answer any and all questions I had regarding the position. Interviewers (portfolio manager and tech lead, plus the aforementioned HR) started the interview by establishing a very calm and inviting tone/atmosphere that made it seem like we were just having a leisurely conversation, sharing previous experience, and what topics we both know something about. It was nice to see that they were just as interested in who I am as a potential member of their team as what my skills are in regards to the position. Since a lot was discussed, interview lasted about 1h 10m.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Technical topics discussed: previous development experience (backend, frontend, databases), building containers (+best practices), scripting/task automation, cloud native applications, Kubernetes, namespaces, replicas, pods vs containers, helm charts, service meshes, pod scaling, static/dynamic code analysis, pipelines, secret injection, security frameworks (like OWASP), managing cloud environments.
Soft skill questions: What drives you? What do you do in your free time? Would you have any objections if there was a need to assist in a project that's with the DoD? Try to remember a time when you had to work with a difficult person - what were some of the challenges you had to work through?
At one point I was even asked how I make my PB&J sandwiches (lol).
