      Director Interview

      8 Aug 2015
      Anonymous employee
      Boston, MA
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied through an employee referral. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at City Year (Boston, MA) in Jun 2014

      Interview

I reached out to the organization for an informational interview, which was scheduled pretty quickly. It seemed like it was worth pursuing, so I submitted a resume and cover letter. The HR and hiring manager screened my resume and set up a phone screen interview. After the phone screen, there was a panel interview with current staff. After a few weeks, there was a final interview with the hiring manager. Soon after that, I was contacted with the offer.

      Director Interview

      7 Mar 2022
      Anonymous employee
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 7 weeks. I interviewed at City Year

      Interview

Interviewed for a mid-level director role with City Year HQ - was able to work directly through someone in their people ops team who guided me through the entire process. This person really made me feel like they were on my team and at bat for me throughout the entire process. It was very long - screening interview, video interview with potential boss, writing assignment, panel interview with potential colleagues, and video interview with boss' boss - but every step of the way the people ops' team member prepared me and guided me.
