I had two rounds of interview. First, we discuss the overall process of the interview with the technical acquisition member. In the second stage, I had an interview with one of engineers, discussing my background.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Compare the pros and cons of transformers vs RNNs.
I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Chubb (Toronto, ON) in Aug 2025
Interview
Both interviewers appeared inexperienced with real-world production systems and seemed to rely heavily on ChatGPT-generated questions. One repeatedly boasted about working on GenAI products while dismissing my correct explanation of prompt design. The other asked impractical FastAPI questions, making the interview feel unprofessional and disorganized. I wouldn’t want to work under such unqualified leadership.
Interview questions [2]
Question 1
They asked how I would intentionally crash a FastAPI microservice in production instead of raising an exception.
I applied through an employee referral. The process took 6 weeks. I interviewed at Chubb in May 2025
Interview
4 rounds of interviews over 6 weeks and got rejected despite completing all the tasks in a satisfying manner and getting positive feedbacks in interviews. Didn't get any feedback after rejection.
