I applied online. The process took 3 months. I interviewed at CharacterStrong in Dec 2024
Interview
RUN!
The entire hiring process took three months. I applied on December 2nd and was initially contacted by the hiring manager to complete a one-way interview answering two questions. The second stage involved completing a detailed performance task.
Following this, the HR recruiter informed me that due to the holiday season, there would be a delay in updates. After the holidays, I was invited to schedule a final interview, which lasted 2.5 hours and included both a member of the executive team and the hiring manager.
During this final interview, I was told midway through that they were interested in moving forward with a reference check and was asked to provide my references. This was on a Thursday. I promptly sent my references the same day. The recruiter was able to reach two of the three references that same day but had difficulty reaching the last one. After following up on my end, my final reference was able to connect with them on Tuesday.
After completing three interview stages over two months, including a 2.5-hour interview and a full reference check, I was then completely ghosted. Despite following up two weeks later, I was simply told they were still interviewing and making a decision. Now, after a month of waiting with no further communication, I have yet to receive any closure regarding my candidacy.
For a company that prides itself on building character and kindness, this experience has been incredibly disappointing and unprofessional. I invested three months in this process—applying, interviewing, and completing multiple tasks—only to be left without any follow-up. This has been the most unprofessional interview process I have encountered.
The interview is fair. The engineering team is friendly and I honestly didn't feel I was in an interview. Be prepared to share your work history and why you're a good fit for the company.

Question 1
How do I ensure testing prior to shipping a feature to prod
Did a 2 minute interview (video recorded). You only had one chance to record it. The only thing that was difficult was that you could not re-record. Overall very positive company.
