The interviewer joined a few minutes late and moved directly into a live coding exercise without any proper introductions or an opportunity to talk about my background and experience. I was not informed in advance that the first interview with this company would involve live SQL and Python coding, which was unexpected, as this is typically communicated ahead of time.
When I raised this concern and asked whether rescheduling was possible, so I could prepare better, I was told that because I had already seen the question, the interview could not proceed and my candidacy will be dropped.
I respect technical interviews and understand the need to assess hands-on skills, but the lack of clarity around expectations and the abrupt format made this experience feel misaligned with senior-level interview standards.
I’m sharing this feedback to help future candidates better prepare.
