      Application

I applied through university. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Capco (New York, NY) in Nov 2017

      Interview

So I applied through my university and was notified that I was selected to interview with Capco. I was away from my school so I had a phone interview with a rep from Capco. They basically asked me to run through my resume and the standard behavioral questions. It was pretty easy on honestly a low-key casual conversation. About two days after the phone interview I was notified that I was invited to New York for the second and final round. They pay for accommodations (you're given a budget) if you are coming from outside the NY region. I arrived early for the interview and was just waiting in a room with some other. They divided us in groups that we traveled with for the rest of the day. Part 1 was a rapid fire round with three consultants and they just asked questions to see how you operate under pressure. Keep your cool and you'll do fine. Round two we watched a video and had to take notes on the video that we watched. I thought that this was the hardest part as the people talked fast and you are not given anywhere near enough time to write down notes (the point of it all). Part three was a group case study. I had a good group and we worked well together. Note, they watched as my group and I were discussing so be sure to "act". Overall what I expected and a well run day. I just interviewed two days ago and we were told that we would hear the following week.

      Application

I applied through university. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Capco (Houston, TX) in Oct 2024

      Interview

The interview process consists of three distinct rounds. The first round was a managerial interview, where I was assessed on my ability to manage tasks, prioritize responsibilities, and demonstrate leadership and decision-making skills. This round focused on understanding my approach to handling challenges, cross-functional team collaboration, and managing client expectations. The second round was a technical interview that delved into my problem-solving abilities and technical expertise. I was asked to solve real-world problems, showcase my proficiency with specific tools and technologies relevant to the role, and demonstrate my coding abilities in a timed environment. This round tested both my theoretical knowledge and hands-on skills. The final round was a behavioral interview, designed to assess my soft skills, such as communication, teamwork, and adaptability. Here, I was evaluated on how well I align with the company’s values and culture, as well as my ability to handle workplace scenarios like conflict resolution and decision-making under pressure. I was also given the opportunity to ask questions and further demonstrate my interest in the role and the company.

      Question 1

I was asked to discuss a project I had worked on, including how I broke it down into smaller tasks and the overall outcome of the project.

      Interview

I very recently had an assessment day with Capco which was an experience to say the least. It started with two interviews the first was okay the manager was nice and friendly but the second was not so pleasant. The interviewer did not want to be there and didn't even let me speak. Going onto the case study which was fine and no issues until it came to asking questions as the case study leader laughed at my question. This happened a second time by the same lady in the last Q&A session as she laughed in front of everyone about my question. I am not sure if she thinks she is better than everyone else or something else but if thats the people Capco employee stay far away! I unfortunately didn't get offered the position which is okay, there was a lot of high calibre candidates. The issue comes from being told of this rejection through a no reply email with "We received many qualified applicants and have decided to move ahead with another candidate who we feel is a better match for this particular position" which is the only feedback i got. I think it's appalling that I as a student spend days preparing and applying whilst still carrying out university work to receive a two sentence email of rejection without even an option to apply. I have never had to write such a comment before but I believe everyone should know not to spend time applying!
