I have been working at Capco full-time for more than a year

    Pros

I started out at Capco after graduating college, and I couldn't have asked for a better place to start my career. Capco invests a whole lot in their ATP (Associate Talent Program), and I've been so inspired by all of the great talent we see at the junior level consultants. Capco truly embraces the concept of a "flat hierarchy", and empowers their employees to take complete charge of their experience and career at Capco. I love seeing leadership and senior management be so invested in coaching and mentorship. When your co-workers and managers end up becoming friends you can do life with outside of work - you know you're at a company full of great people.

    Cons

Your experience at Capco can be and will be heavily influenced by the project you're on. However, you can also make the best of the situation and find ways to grow or stay connected with broader community, especially if you're on client site everyday.

I have been working at Capco full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

As a career consultant, Capco has provided me the skillsets to continue to grow in my career. I have the freedom to choose my path and the available resources to make it possible. If you are active and passionate about your internal growth, this is a great place to work.

    Cons

    1. We are decentralized because of the nature of being on client site. We should be required to work from the office 1 day a week (pre-pandemic) and let our clients know our policy. 2. We are a global firm, we should partner more or have insight into the global projects

I worked at Capco full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

I have seen this office grow beyond my wildest expectations. I had the chance to work with great consultants, mentors, and friends on projects that were often ‘mission critical’ for our clients and served as industry benchmarks in digital transformation. I grew a lot both professionally and personally over my time here, and I put that down to the people I worked with and was coached by. Growing pains are inevitable, but the openness to questions and focus on the ‘human’ element of the workplace makes the Capco Toronto office a unique spot in the consulting world.

    Cons

Singular industry focus (a competitive advantage but can lead to project fatigue). Internal processes in flux as the company continues to grow at a rapid rate.

I have been working at Capco full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

As a company focused only on Financial Services, Capco provides a great platform for continuing to evolve and develop deep and relevant knowledge across the industry. As an independent, mid-sized company, Capco offers excellent opportunities for growth without the limitations and red tape that you'd expect at a large consulting firm. For example, publishing of blogs and white papers is open to all individuals at Capco with a point of view and entrepreneurial spirit, and can typically be turned around and on the website to be promoted globally on social media within days. The other benefit of Capco is the open culture, where everyone is accessible.

    Cons

As a consultancy that continues to grow, there's always more to do than can be done. Work-life balance is achievable but requires self management.

I have been working at Capco full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

In my experience, Capco has dramatically transformed my career for the better. Prior to arriving at Capco, I worked in a product management role that was siloed and lacked an outward market perspective. Fast forward 3 years, I now understand how the largest banks run their various product lines, I have lead multiple market entry strategy engagements, built extensive financial models, developed effective sales/relationship management skills, and lead a domain focused on what I enjoy doing. Working at Capco has provided plenty of opportunities for growth in my career and as an individual.

    Cons

Being a small firm, people are often stretched very thin at times

I have been working at Capco full-time for more than 8 years

    Pros

    - I have been given opportunities and roles that constantly stretch my capabilities, even when they make me uncomfortable - Most of the senior management are very approachable and engaged; I feel like they care about me both as a colleague and a person - Whenever I have reached out for help, people have been extremely supportive - Excellent benefits and vacation time

    Cons

    - Work-life balance is always a challenge to manage. We are subject to the whims of our clients and also need to contribute to the firm, which can be very demanding at times.

I have been working at Capco full-time for more than 8 years

    Pros

    1. Great people, really friendly and very collaborative 2. Always opportunity to extend yourself. Sometimes this is uncomfortable but this makes it worthwhile 3. Variety of work across different projects, topics and business development

    Cons

Career and leadership development is very much dependent upon individual responsibility and coaches, and less on overall company structure. Although I do see improvements here.

I have been working at Capco full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

In my five years at Capco, I've experienced a great deal of growth, mobility, and opportunity to learn. I've worked with leaders who offered meaningful mentorship and helped me to advance. Capco leadership is approachable and genuinely interested in the success of their people. My projects have been unique, interesting, and challenging. I've been able to develop strong relationships with senior level clients at top tier financial services companies. Early on, my managers gave me the autonomy and exposure to develop my skillset and work directly with senior clients. Capco is a place that recognizes and rewards talent. The culture has been great, with a foundation of clubs and communities that keep Capco consultants connected. Overall, Capco is an excellent place to work and build your career!

    Cons

Decentralized nature of onsite client work makes it difficult to get to know fellow consultants at Capco (same at all consulting firms). However, if you get involved with an internal community within Capco, it becomes much easier to meet people and build your network.
