I applied in-person. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Canyon Tire & Auto (Canyon, TX)
Interview
Boss called me in for the interview, and asked me the pretty obvious questions. He wanted me to explain to him how to properly break down a tire, fix a flat, take the wheels off of vehicles, put them back on the vehicle, how to change oil in a vehicle- Just the standard steps to make sure I have a decent idea of what I am doing. The guys at the shop have no problem teaching a new hire how to use these machines, the biggest thing they are looking for is to make sure the person being interviewed has common since, and some general understanding of what is needed to be done, and what shouldn't be done to a vehicle to properly care for the vehicle. After I was able to show competence, he asked, when can i start. Also, payday is weekly, on every Monday. The reason for this personally I feel is because too many people blow there checks on the weekend and may blow it on things like alcohol. Because they work on Saturdays, I wouldn't recommend drinking the night prior.
