I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Canonical (Brisbane) in Dec 2023
Interview
Psychometric testing and written interview are round one and take quite a lot of time. The process is faceless and there is no feedback following the written interview. The following steps are positioned as a meet and greet with the team and a longer interview. Written questions don't allow for diversity of education backgrounds.

Question 1
How did you fare in high school mathematics, physical sciences and computing? Which were
your strengths and which most enjoyable? How did you rank, competitively, in these
subjects?
9 interviews before being rejected because my English was not up to the last interviewer standard. Lots of interviews with individual contributors who helped get the vibe. An extensive written préparation is asked, it took me about 10 hours to prepare it

I applied online. The process took 3 months. I interviewed at Canonical (Dublin, Dublin) in Apr 2025
Interview
The interview process at Canonical was one of the most extensive I've encountered. It included a written assessment ( about 38 questions), cognitive and personality tests, three early-stage interviews, a talent/HR interview, three final-stage interviews (including a timed presentation and panel exercise), and a final executive conversation. The process stretched across nearly three months, often with long periods of waiting between steps.
While many of the individuals I spoke with were kind and insightful, the lack of communication between stages and the absence of any personalised feedback at the end was disappointing—especially after investing so much time and preparation. After eight hour-long interviews and multiple assessments, I received a rejection email over a week after the final round, with no explanation or guidance.

The negative reviews are legit. This company will waste a lot of your time with different types of assessments as part of their hiring process. I'm still not convinced that anyone actually looked at anything that I did.
