I applied online. The process took 3 months. I interviewed at Canonical (London, England) in Jan 2023
Interview
Canonical was disrespectful. I never received an answer from them. There was not even an automated email to reject. Most companies would show a bit of respect after having a candidate spent so much time in their process. Even though good companies would put in a personalized email or even a phone call after such lengthy process, I would have expected at least some sort of notification from Canonical for a rejection. I received nothing instead and this is very poor. The people I interviewed with were friendly and the hiring lead was friendly too. This was until they had discarded me and never even closed down my application which would have triggered an automated email. I did follow up with on email to ask if there were any updates. My attempts were ignored. I do not complain about the time as I knew what I was getting into since I have read all the terrible experiences from other people. I just thought that a rejection is the minimum they should do for a candidate that advanced through the process enough to have eight different interviews. Overall, I have come to terms with the result and their attitude and I am glad I did not join them as I do not share the values of a company that treats people in this way. Whatever the reason is for this behaviour (arrogance, toxic culture, people being extremely busy, or all of the above) it certainly cannot be a place where I would be happy. I suppose the comments on the internet were right. If you are interested by all means go ahead but know that the process is lengthy and laborious and they won't even take the time to reject you even after months, written interview, tests, and several interviews.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
There is a written questionnaire with over fifty questions, an intelligence test, a personality test, I had 8 different interviews. The questions are very varied from high school to projects, technologies, leadership.
Lungo e superficiale in alcuni punti. Tutto da remoto senza interfaccia fisica (almeno in videochiamata) e con test secondo me inutili sull'attitudine e la velocità. Non il processo di hiring che mi aspettavo

Question 1
Cosa cambierei dell'azienda come processi. Ma non avendoci lavorato come posso rispondere a tale domanda?
