      Law Clerk Interview

      15 Nov 2025
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Toronto
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I interviewed at CPA Ontario (Toronto)

      Interview

An HR representative conducted a 1-hour long screening call, and the very next day a remote interview was set up with the two hiring managers, both lawyers in fairly high ranking positions. I was immediately compared to their current law clerk who was retiring after 10 years with the organization. Not a bad thing, but as the interview progressed, the mood digressed. I felt that one of the interviewers was fair and easy to converse with, but the other was distracted, uninterested and quite frankly rude and actually dozed off during the interview after passing judgment on why I may have had several job changes in my career. I held my ground and sent a thank you to the HR representative immediately after the interview

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

Can you describe a time when you identified a problem and proposed the solution? I see you have had "x" many jobs in the last 15 years, what am I to take from that? What are some of the qualities you look up to in your coworkers?
