I applied online. The process took 1+ week. I interviewed at CIBC (Toronto, ON) in Feb 2014
Interview
I was applying online from their corporate website, 4-5 business days after I got a telephone interview(they ask you to call them).
In the very first beginning, they confirmed with you about your availability to work, if you can legally work in Canada, if you are willing to give them your SIN number, etc. Questions are quite standard, include: Why would you like to work for CIBC, did you work in a call centre environment before, any customer service before, etc.
HR recruiter was very kind and easy to talk to. Can't think of a downside.

I interviewed at CIBC (Ottawa, ON)
Interview
Quick and easy. Was smooth as I knew the manager ( met her at my previous job). Would recommend to apply on careers page. Good company to work for. Ueuej
Really quick. There wasn’t a lot of questions and I was contacted each week. It was quite short and they really needed people. Most of the questions were basic and focused on customer service rather than balancing.
Just asked to do the assessment task and failed me. This has been happening with the CIBC since 2 years despite getting interviews from other banks. I don't know what could be the problem.

Just general questions and finish a task by the end of application.
