CADDi Business Development Representative (BDR) interview questions

Strange process, initial personality screening was not done by HR. Immediately wanted me to do the next round which I declined for the sake of preparation. Via email I was told the second round would consist of an explanation of cold call methods, a role play, and a check out session. Upon arriving for the second round, I was told we would immediately go into the role play. I asked about the explanation portion, and they said that they cannot share that as “it is an interview.” Strange, but I continued. Next they shared the phone number of another employee and asked me to call him on my personal cell. Again I obliged, as odd as it seemed. Upon calling I stated the name and began my pitch, only to be told it was the wrong number. I hung up, recited the number, and the interviewers said it was correct. I tried again (following the interviewer teams messaging this poor employee) and conducted the cold call. Following the call, I was asked to grade myself, (it was rough but I had been shaken by everything at this point) and then I sought feedback before conducting a second cold call. I was given a number grade by the manager for the position for each of 7 categories and he concluded by telling me “that was horrible.” I pressed for more information besides a number and an insult and was told, again, I could not get any more information “because this is an interview.” I decided to end the interview there. I’m not sure about others interviewing for BDR positions, but I have received feedback regarding my cold calling role play in every other interview I’ve ever done. Strange all around. Negative experience and don’t waste your time unless you’re desperate.
